Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten crashes out of the lead of the women's road race just seven miles from the finish. She suffered a concussion and three cracked vertebrae. And this, kids, is why we wear a helmet.

I was watching live when it happened. I really thought it had knocked her out since she was completely motionless. Then I had to endure watching the American rider lose it right at the end. The whole thing was just tragic.

Lowside into a high side. Nice. I’ll give her 8 points. Pretty difficult move, but she didn’t quite stick the landing. Gotta avoid those curbs.

When the American rider went by and she was still in the exact same awkward position, and then they didn’t show replays right away, honestly started to wonder how bad it was. You’re right, she was completely motionless.

Looks like she locked up the front.
